Day 1 - Arrival into Beijing

Arrive in Beijing and be met and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day will be free to spend at your leisure to soak in the atmosphere with some free time in the afternoon.

Guilin

Day 2 - Beijing

After breakfast embark on a guided tour starting at Tiananmen Square, the world’s largest square of its kind encompassing 440,000m2. Next you will visit the Imperial Palace, also known as the Forbidden City. This landmark symbolizes both the imperial and traditional China. After lunch continue onto the Temple of Heaven, the place where the emperors of the Ming and Qing Dynasties worshipped heaven, praying for both peace and good harvest.Enjoy a Peking Roast Dinner and a Peking Opera Show before returning to you hotel.

Day 3 - Beijing

You will visit one of the eight wonders of the world, the Great Wall. It is a symbol of Chinese civilization, history and heritage. After lunch, continue your guided tour as you visit the Ming Tombs, where 13 emperors were buried during the Ming Dynasty.

Day 4 - Beijing to Xian by Air

After breakfast, you will board the morning flight to Xian. Upon arrival in Xian you will be met and transferred to your hotel. After lunch, your tour begins by seeing the once flamboyant and sophisticated Tang Dynasty Capital, Xian. Visit the Xian City Wall, a symbol of great significance to the historical city of Xian. Continue on to the Big Goose Pagoda where you can overlook the whole city. After sampling the local Dumpling Dinner experience a traditional Tang Dynasty Show.

Day 5 - Xian

After breakfast come face to face with the Terracotta Warriors. The extraordinary 2200 year old lifelike reproduction of the army of China’s First Emperor Qin. After lunch you will visit the Banpo Museum, a village set up by the late Neolithic people. Continue on to the Banpo Museum a village built by the late Neolithic people.

Day 6 - Xian to Lanzhou by Air

After breakfast take a morning flight to Lanzhou to be met and transferred to your hotel. After settling in and lunch you will visit the Lanzhou Gansu Provincial Museum and the White Pagoda Park.

Day 7 - Lanzhou to Lhasa by train

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before visiting the Binglingsi Grottoes. Transfer in the afternoon to the train station where you will take the overnight train to Lhasa.

Day 8 - Lhasa

Arrive in Lhasa and be met and transferred to you hotel. Enjoy the afternoon soaking up the local atmosphere and get accustomed to the Tibetan climate and altitude.)

Day 9 - Lhasa

Today you will visit the sacred Jokhang Monastery , a 1300 year old golden roofed shrine. Afterwards you can wander through the fascinating Barkhor area, lined with stalls and markets selling all types of goods.

Lhasa City

Day 10 - Lhasa

After breakfast you will visit the Potala Palace known for both its architectural design and religious significance. In the afternoon you will see the Sera Monastery, located a few miles to the north of Lhasa. Enjoy a relaxing dinner before enjoying a Tibetan Song and Dance performance.

Day 11 - Lhasa

Today you will see the western suburb of Lhasa where you will visit the Drepung Monastery founded in 1416. Afterwards you will move on to a couple of small Tibetan villages where locals go about their daily business. Return to Lhasa in the afternoon and enjoy some free time to explore the local area.

Day 12 - Lhasa to Shanghai by Air

After breakfast transfer to airport to take morning flight to Shanghai via Chengdu. After settling into your hotel take a stroll along the Bund and view the 20th century European buildings which line the walkway. In the evening you will be taken to see an exciting Acrobatic show.

Day 13 - Shanghai

Today you will visit the Yuyuan Garden and walk through the Old Town filled with antique markets and specialty stores. The focus of today’s exploration is the Shanghai Museum, a leading attraction since 1994. You will have free time in the afternoon to explore more of the city on you own.

Guilin

Day 14 - Shanghai / Suzhou / Shanghai

You will be picked up in the morning at your hotel then be driven to Suzhou (1 hour drive). Suzhou is renowned for its silk and you will visit the Humble Administrator’s Garden Silk Factory. After lunch, you will continue your tour by visiting the Ancient City Wall, Grand Canal, Tiger Hill and the Leaning Pagoda. Returning to Shanghai in the afternoon.

Transfer to the airport for departure.
