Day 1 - Beijing - Hohhot by overnight train

Day 1 - Beijing to Hohhot by train
Pick up from your hotel around 6:30pm and transferred to Beijing West Train Station. Take overnight train to Hohhot from Beijing by K89 at 21:00 for Hohhot. Sharing a 4-berth cabin on the overnight train.

Day 2 Hohhot - Gegentala Grassland by road Arrival in Huhhot 07:20 am. Met and first transferred to a nice hotel for buffet breakfast. After breakfast, drive to the Gegentala Grassland. The drive to Gegentala Grassland takes about 3 hours. After arriving at the grassland, check in at the deluxe yurts. Then go to the stud farms to select the horse for riding. The cost for horse riding is not included in the tour package. You are supposed to talk with the herdsmen. Normally it costs RMB 150 per round, which takes about 2 hours including the horse riding, visiting a Aobao hill and visiting a Mongolian family.

After the horse riding, watching the routine performance at 5:00pm given by the Gegentala Grassland including horse racing and wrestling performance. After dinner, enjoying bonfire party in the evening starting at 9:00 or 9:30am. Stay at deluxe yurt. ( B L D )

Day 3 - Gegentala Grassland - Hohhot - Baotou by Road

Get up early to Watch the sunrise in the morning. Return to Huhhot by road for the city sightseeing of Hohhot. visit Dazhao Monastery, the largest Gelukpa (Yellow Hat Sect) Temple in town, which holds many interesting artefacts. Then move on to Saishanglaojie, the 400-year old street with the characteristics of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Then visit Five-Pagoda Temple or locally called Wuta Si in Chinese. It has a blend of architectural style with five multi-tier Chinese style pagodas built on a square-shaped Indian style structure. Then take a vehicle to Baotou. Stay at Shangri-la Hotel Baotou ( 5 star ). ( B L D )

Day 4 - Baotou - Beijing by overnight train K90 (Dep: 21:00 Arr: 07:20 next morning) After breakfast, drive 60 km and get to the Resonant Sand Gorge. After arrving at the Resonant Sand Gorge, take the bus to the chairlift station. Then take chairlift to the top of the sand hill. First take one hour's camel ride on the desert. Then enjoying the sand sliding for two times. For more activities, you are requested to pay by yourself.

Then drive 130km and get to the Genghis Khan's Mausoleum, a mausoleum constructed in commemoration of Genghis Khan, a Mongolian king (13th century) who once spread his empire from south China to the Caspian Sea. Then return to Hohhot by the road ( B L D ), connect the overnight train for Beijing.

Day 5 - Arrival at Beijing

Arrival in Beijing at 7:20 early in the morning. met and transferred back to your hotel in Beijing.
